The New York Fashion Accademy in Ballard Washington hosted the 6th annual Restore Recycled Art and Fashion show on Friday April 18th. The designers made outfits out of everyday trash. This outfit for example was created out of old umbrellas. View more images from the show at: http://stock.kozmaphotography.com/gpgs.aspx?pgid=15836770&e=0&p=0

On Saturday (April 12th) the students from the New York Fashion Academy in Ballard held their annual fashion show Vifiy: To bring to life. It was a privilege to photograph the show featuring a new generation of designers.

About this image: The dress is from Liise Wyatt’s collection. She designs a produces elegant evening, cocktail, and bridal attire for fashion-forward women who appreciate luxurious fabric and fine detail. Hair by Rai Noski and Make-up by Gabriella Levin. You can view additional images from the show featuring all nine designers on my website at: http://stock.kozmaphotography.com/gpgs.aspx?pgid=15739180&e=0&p=0
The show was presented by the students enrolled in the school’s Certificate Program of Mastery in Fashion Design and Construction. The students were responsible for garment design and construction, model selection, choreography, and other elements of the show. There were nine designers featuring selections from there premier lines:
- Summer Anne by Summer Goodfrey
- Eyes on June by Tiffany Schella
- Samara Clothing Company by Nicole Hood
- Deco by Carina Carter
- Nouvelle by Yilin Lee
- Outlaw Clothing by Jenn Alberg
- Karry Orr
- Jessica Milton
- Liise Wyatt
Technical info:
There were two shows on at 7pm and one at 9pm. For both shows I used the Nikon D300 with a 24-70 F2.8 AFS lens. The early show I shot with NO flash ISO 800 1/160 f2.8 white balance on tungsten. For the late show I added a SB-800 as fill flash (TTL BL -2EV) with a ½ CTO gel. I think that next time I will increase the gel to a full CTO to warm the skin tones a little more. The flash was at a 45 degree angle with a bounce card.
